How do you become a mystery shopper?

Written by admin on February 25th, 2009

Does anyone know how I would go about becoming a mystery shopper for the likes of Mamas And Papas of any other large chain stores? I've looked on Mamas and papas website, but there is no mention of mystery shopper jobs?

I think you have to have worked within that industry for a certain amount of time, before you have been proven trustworthy enough of becoming one of their Mystery Shoppers.

you have to register with a market research company - they send you to different places - you do not work forthe companies directly.

Wear dark glasses, a long coat, and a big hat while you shop. Oh and only pay with cash, not credit, then it won't be a mystery who you are.

I'm sorry I donot trust anyone who wants a "one time fee" payment b4 you get started. If someone needs you to work why would you pay to work for them. Not only that I would never give a perfectly good stranger my CC #. Good luck though b/c it does sound really fun.

Mystery shoppers work for a seperate company, not the actual shop that they will be working in

Hi,

Mystery shopping is actually quite a lucrative business and there are courses available. There's a business publisher called 'Avril Harper' who does a very good manual on the subject. I think her publishing company is called 'Canonbury Publishing'. You'll have to put it in the search engines and look for it. She's very well known, so you shouldn't have a problem. If you do have a problem..get back to me and I'm sure I can find it. Hope this is helpful. I think the reason you're not finding anything is because the stores don't usually employ mystery shoppers. They're usually from an outside source…individuals and companies.

grassroots are the best comapny to work for they are free to you pay you once a month dorect into bank accounts and can you working in under 1 week. in your local area
the jobs you will do for them will include things such as

they are many more online that say they sign you up free and offer lots of work but dont im affraid all incure a cost and all conssist of empty offer for internet questionaires that pay you in prize draw tickets for 30 mins of question on a product.

They are not employed by the department stores. Outside agencies employ people to do these mystery shops with the norm being 3-4 different shops a day- not normally with the one shop.
Any that i have seen advertised offer positions on a casual part time basis. I cannot however think of any of their names- sorry.
Good luck with your search.

These jobs usually are advertised by agencies who do the recruitment. I know the Wilkinsons store uk advertise on their website. You could always write to the stores head office and im sure they will respond as you are showing an interest in their company. Browse the web also you should get plenty of useful links to mystery shopping recruitment agencies.
